Price List and Quoting

A base price list has been provided as a guideline only and is subject to change without notice. The workroom computes and provides yardage requirements with each price quote. To request a quote please submit the following information:

If a work order is submitted without a prior quote and yardage confirmation, the workroom is not responsible for insufficient yardage or additional labor required to complete the project.

Quotes are good for 30 days.

Work Orders and Changes

All work orders and changes must be in writing. We supply work order forms to improve communication and reduce errors. By completing all information on the work order forms, it greatly reduces the need for us to call you with questions which can delay your job. Please make a copy of your work orders for your records. If you the designer have your own forms they may be acceptable, however please have workroom approve in advance. Please include only one type of treatment per work order and attach a swatch of the fabric and/or trims whenever possible. Attach these to work order with the face and up direction marked.

You can mail, fax or email us orders and changes. The workroom will not be responsible for orders or changes not in writing.

Lead times.

Normal lead time is 4-6 weeks once a work order, deposit, and all necessary materials to complete a job are received. This is subject to change at any time. Upcoming holidays, large jobs, backorders and flaws with fabric may extend lead times. Please always call before promising a date of completion to your client or setting up installation.

Scheduling Orders

Jobs are completed on a first come, first serve basis. Jobs will be put into the schedule when a completed work order and all materials necessary to fabricate the treatment are received. Until then, a completion date can not be guaranteed.

Rush Orders

Rush orders or jobs taken out of order, will be available on an “as possible” basis and will only be competed after receipt of all necessary materials, completed work order and deposit. This option is not available during the holidays. Any project requested sooner than 4 to 6 week lead time is considered a rush job and will incur additional charges. Within 3 weeks: 25% up-charge. Within 2 weeks: 50% up-charge. Within 1 week: Inquire.

Holiday Cut Offs

Typical holiday cut off dates are October 1 st for Thanksgiving delivery and November 1 st for Christmas, however these are subject to change. Please check with the workroom for current holiday cut offs and before promising a completion or installation date to your client.

Cancellation of Orders

If you wish to cancel a job, you will be charged for supplies ordered and/or used and for labor already completed.

Installation

Installation can be arranged by the workroom. Please call for an estimate. Your presence at installations will ensure that treatments are installed as you planned. If you are not present or written instructions not given, the workroom will not be responsible for placement. Please advise your client to remove furniture and valuable or sentimental items from the work area before installation begins.

Window Treatment Proportions

Please be aware that a treatment may turn out very different from the photograph or drawing sent if the proportions of your client’s window are different from the window in the photograph or drawing. For that reason, we suggest always drawing treatments to scale before sending your work orders. If the same treatment is being made for multiple windows of various sizes, the treatment’s design or proportions may need to be altered to appear uniform or harmonious from one window to the next.

Drop Shipments

If you are drop shipping merchandise, please have the company side mark it with your company name and your client’s name. Instruct the fabric company to send you a swatch of the fabric for your approval, and indicate fabric details on your work order. We are not responsible for treatments made from incorrectly drop shipped or labeled fabrics.

Fabric Inspection and Flaws

All fabrics are measured, inspected and labeled when received in the workroom. However, the workroom can not be responsible for missing flaws. If flaws are found prior to fabrication, and they can not be worked around, the designer will be notified.

Flat Fold Fabrics

If fabric is flat-folded, there is an additional charge of 5.00 per yard fee for pressing and rolling on fabric tube. We can not guarantee removal of creases.

Appropriate Fabric for Treatments

If you have questions about how a fabric will work for a specific treatment, please send a swatch with picture or drawing and specifications for proposed treatment. We will be happy to assist you with your choices. However, it is ultimately the designer’s responsibility to choose fabrics suitable for the treatments being fabricated from them.

Fabric Stability

No fabric is completely stable. All fabrics stretch and shrink due to the fiber content, weather, humidity, and construction. Loose open weaves and stretchy fabrics are particularly susceptible to changes in length. The workroom is not responsible for length changes due to the above factors. Such fabrics as linen and moiré will not be steam pressed. The steam will cause the fabric to shrink and grow. We will not fabricate on fiberglass or heavy open weave casements.

Fabric Durability

All fabric wears differently depending on the amount and type of usage, exposure to sunlight, moisture or dirt, and cleaning and pressing methods used. We are not responsible for how a fabric wears now or in the future.

Fabric Requiring an Up-Charge

An extra 25% will be charged for fabrics requiring special handling or additional steps in fabrications. Examples of fabrics requiring and up-charge: flame retardant, velvets, crewel, sheers, silks, laces and quilted fabrics. Send a swatch along with the specifications for the proposed treatments, if you are in doubt about your fabric.

Flame Retardant Fabric

Because of special pins required in fabrication and potential allergies to flame retardant chemicals, flame retardant fabric must be indicated on the work order and clearly marked. An additional .20 per drapery pin will be charged.

Sheets

Sheet use is discouraged due to the following reasons: creases may not be able to be pressed out, print may be off grain, pattern is difficult to match, and more sheets are usually required than originally planned on. Please call the workroom to inform them prior to sending a work order for a treatment with sheets so that instructions on whether they need to be pre-laundered can be determined. Because of the above reasons a standard of 25.00 per sheet up-charge will be incurred.

Lining

Lining is suggested to protect your client’s fabric. Lining is not included in the price unless otherwise specified. We are unable to stock a designer’s own lining due to space limitations and inventory control. There is a 2.00 per yard surcharge for fabricating with COM lining.

Alterations and Restyling of Prior Fabricated Window Treatments

The workroom reserves the right to refuse alterations and restyling on a job to job basis. Please call for consult and/or pricing. If the alteration or restyle is accepted by the workroom, the items sent must be dry cleaned first. The workroom is not responsible for existing damage or fading and can not guarantee removal of creases or stitch marks. New lining must be used for all remakes. The workroom will do everything possible to reproduce a satisfactory product.

Payment terms

A 50% deposit is required for us to accept an order. Balance will be billed upon completion and is payable within 14 days. 1.5% interest will be charged per month for late payments. After 90 days, the account will be turned over for collection, and any future orders will be handled on a full payment in advance basis. Checks returned for insufficient funds will incur a 35.00 fee.

Shipping and Delivery

Delivery and Pick up is complimentary within a 10 mile radius of the workroom. Greater distances will incur additional pick up and delivery charges.

If we are shipping to you, the cost of shipping and handling will be added to your order. Oversized items may need to be shipped freight at an additional cost. To reduce the amount of delivery and pick up needed, you may drop ship fabrics to the workroom..

Non-Compete

All clients initially referred through a designer will remain that designer’s client for a period of 3 years. If a client contacts the workroom directly they will be asked to work directly through the designer.

Guarantee

The workroom guarantees all products to be of quality workmanship, as outlined, and measurements to be accurate according to submitted work orders. Any concerns, problems, or discrepancies, must be brought to our attention within 14 days of receipt of completed work, apart from the responsible party. Thereafter, any rework will be charged to the designer. Any deviation or discrepancy from the submitted work order will be at the expense of the workroom. However, the workroom will not be responsible for miscalculations or incorrect measurements submitted by the designer on the work order. Any rework expense resulting from this, or after the allotted time, will be the responsibility of the designer. We will not be responsible for charges or changes if any other company attempts or makes corrections to our product.
